Real Shlichus AI Use Cases
What shluchim and shluchos actually did with AI from August 2025 to October 2026, drawn from about 700 uses reported in the AI for Shlichus groups: donations into the CRM, flyers, shiur prep, delivery routes, personal agents and the tools members built, each marked by how far it got.

This list was compiled in October 2026 from the four AI for Shlichus WhatsApp groups: the main shluchim group, the Shluchos group, the Builders group and the GabAI group. Members reported about 700 distinct uses (merged from more than 1,600 mentions) between August 2025 and October 2026. The page keeps the most concrete and most copyable of them, grouped by area of shlichus, with near-duplicates merged.
Each entry is what a shliach or shlucha said they did. ChabadLabs did not retest them, so treat each one as community experience from the month shown. Tools change fast; the linked wiki pages carry the current details and prices.
Status tells you how far a use got:
- In daily use: part of the member's routine, or an agent runs it on its own.
- In use: the member reported doing it and getting a result, often more than once.
- Shipped: a tool another shliach can open today. Links on this page were checked in October 2026.
- Tried: done once, or still being tested.
- Asked for: requested in the chat or on a wishlist, with no report yet of it working.
When is the month of the report described. For uses reported many times, it is the earliest clear report.
The big picture
Marketing content is the most common use by far. Flyers, ads and social posts came up from the first weeks of the group in August 2025. By September 2026 the Shluchos group was trading one standard routine: make the image in ChatGPT, then fix the text in Canva.
Entering donations into the CRM is the standout agent job. At least four shluchim set this up separately in 2026: one on Claude Dispatch, one on Muse, one on Claude, and one who built his own donation reader. The best report came after Tishrei: one agent entered every Zelle, Venmo, CashApp, online gift and check photo over the chagim, and asked whenever it met a kind of entry it had not seen before.
Transcription and translation are the baseline. Shiurim, sichos, voice notes, Yiddish, Hebrew captions: people asked about them every month and mostly got them solved.
Personal agents went mainstream in 2026. A handful of builders started running their own WhatsApp agents on GabAI in March. By September and October, ordinary users were running Muse, Instinct, Tab and ChatGPT Work (Personal AI Agents) for donations, social posts and errands, including members who called themselves total beginners.
Shluchim became builders. The Builders group and the main group shipped more than a dozen public Torah and community tools in 2026, from megillah.app on Purim to Rambam, Tanya and Kiddush Hachodesh learning sites. They are listed under Tools members built, near the end of this page.
The wishlist the GabAI group compiled in March 2026 ended with the reason behind all of it: more time with the people themselves.

| Scan donor emails for employers with matching-gift programs | Not named | Jun 2026 | Asked for |
How the copyable ones work:
- Donations into the CRM. The agent reads the payment notification emails (or you forward them), looks up the donor and enters the gift. The setups that worked told the agent to stop and ask on anything new: an unknown sender, a gift with no stated purpose, a payment type it had not seen. Watch every entry for the first week before letting it run alone. Details on CRM Automation and CRM Tools.
- The reminder loop. The list is last year's donors who have not given this year. The agent checks Stripe before each send, so nobody gets reminded after giving. The stop condition is the part to copy.
- Grant writing. Give the AI the funder's guidelines and questions, a plain outline of the program, and one past application that won. Ask for answers within each word limit, then edit. One member reported it saved about a week of work each time, on two successful applications.

How the copyable ones work:
- The flyer routine. Get the picture right in ChatGPT or Nano Banana first, without trying to get every word perfect. Then bring it into Canva, where Magic Layers splits the image so you can retype the text, or rebuild the text over the background. Hebrew and dates are where AI images still slip, so retype them yourself. Full steps in Flyer Design, How do I make an event flyer with AI and Hebrew in images.
- Sounding like yourself. Paste three or four things you wrote and ask the AI to describe your style as rules, then save those rules in a Project. See How do I get AI writing to sound like me.

Torah, learning and teaching
AI makes mistakes in Torah sources, and the group has argued about it often (AI and Torah Accuracy). The uses below that held up all had the shliach checking the source text. For halacha, AI is a way to find sources to bring to your rav, not a place to get a ruling.

- Transcribing Hebrew and Yiddish. General tools spell Hebrew words in English letters badly; Sofer.ai was built for this. See What is the best way to transcribe a shiur in Hebrew or Yiddish, Transcription and Hebrew and Yiddish.

How the copyable ones work:
- Volunteer routes. Upload two sheets, one of volunteers with home addresses and one of delivery addresses. Ask for an even split, each route starting at the Chabad House and ending near the volunteer's home, as a table per driver with Google Maps links. Spot-check two routes on a map before sending. See How do I plan the most efficient route and Route Optimization.
- Zmanim and Hebrew dates. Never let a chatbot guess them. Pull times from Chabad.org or Hebcal and dates from a calendar library. See Zmanim and Hebrew Dates and How do I get reliable local zmanim.
- Agents and Shabbos. Members discussed whether an agent may run or send over Shabbos; several set theirs to hold everything until after havdalah. The discussion is on AI and Shabbos. Ask your rav.

Two warnings from this area:
- An agent that made an event invoice filled in the wrong name for the shliach's wife, a common name it guessed. Read anything an agent writes before it goes out.
- In December 2025 a shliach reported that the bulk WhatsApp tool he had used for about five years stopped working. Before you send personalized messages in bulk, read How do I use WhatsApp for outreach without getting my number banned and WhatsApp Automation.
Bookkeeping setups are on Bookkeeping Agents and How do I pilot AI-assisted bookkeeping with QuickBooks.

A beginner who started with Instinct in September 2026 put the case simply: "You don't need to be ai savvy for it to be very helpful." The same tools also sent minyan texts at 2 a.m., guessed at things they should have asked about, and locked members out of accounts. Before connecting one, read Personal AI Agents, Agent Hosting and Agent Safety. To decide what to hand over first, see How do I decide which parts of my week to hand to AI.

Try one this week
These five are the easiest to copy and the hardest to get badly wrong. None needs an agent or access to your donors.
- Clean one contact list. Export a messy list, ask ChatGPT or Claude to fix the zip codes, capitals and duplicates, and compare the result with the original. How do I clean up a messy contact list.
- Make next week's flyer the two-step way. Picture in ChatGPT, text in Canva. How do I make an event flyer with AI.
- Prepare one class from the text itself. Paste the sicha or article and ask for an outline, three discussion questions and a one-page handout. How do I use AI to help prepare a shiur.
- Turn last week's shiur into clips. Transcribe it, have AI choose three moments, cut them. How do I turn a long shiur into short video clips.
- Plan the next delivery run. Upload the addresses and the drivers, ask for split routes with map links. How do I plan the most efficient route.
Before you copy the bigger ones
The donor, CRM and agent uses on this page handle other people's information: donors' gifts, community members' phone numbers, sometimes the children in your programs. Donors and families never agreed to have their details sent to a new AI company.
- Start with read-only access, and make the agent draft instead of send. Agent Safety has the rules the builders learned in 2026.
- Do not upload lists of children, photos of children, or anything about their families to an AI tool. Several requests in the groups to tag or look up students were left off this page for that reason.
- Ask before you put someone's voice, face or words into AI content, and keep donor records out of free consumer accounts. Privacy and Data covers which settings to change first.
- When a model refuses a request about people, take the refusal seriously. See AI Refusals and Workarounds.
