Nonprofit Discounts and Free Programs
Every nonprofit and teacher program the group uses, checked on the vendors' own pages on 2026-10-21: Claude, ChatGPT, Google, Microsoft, Canva, Adobe, ElevenLabs, Slack, AWS, TechSoup and Goodstack.

A registered Chabad House can cut its AI bill by more than half. Most of the big programs below were checked on the vendor's own page on 2026-10-21. Prices and rules change often, so open the link before you apply. For the plain-language comparison of paid plans, see Paid vs. Free.
Before you apply
Almost every program wants proof that you are an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3). That means your own IRS determination letter, or the parent organization's group-exemption letter plus your branch's EIN. Google spells out that a church covered by a parent's group exemption can qualify if it is a separate branch (Google's policy). If your Chabad House has neither document, getting the group-exemption letter from the parent organization is the one step that opens most of this page.
Two companies do the checking for most vendors:
- Goodstack verifies for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and ElevenLabs. Anthropic says its check takes about two to three minutes; Google says two to fourteen working days.
- TechSoup verifies for Slack and handles Adobe Creative Cloud and other donated software.
Members' tips from 2026: create your Goodstack account first, then apply to vendors; type your details in by hand instead of accepting the auto-filled record, which for one shliach held an old address and caused a rejection (April 2026). If you are turned down, ask Goodstack for the reason and reapply. Several members were rejected once and approved later.

Claude for Nonprofits
claude.com/solutions/nonprofits. A Team plan for 2 to 150 seats:
- Standard seat: $8 per user per month. Includes Claude Code and Cowork.
- Premium seat: $40 per user per month, with higher usage limits. On Anthropic's regular Team pricing a Premium seat is $125 a month and gets five times a Standard seat's usage, plus Fable at up to half of weekly limits.
- Low- and middle-income countries: $3 per user per month.
- Enterprise: through Anthropic's nonprofit sales team; Anthropic Academy lists $10 per user per month.
Eligible: registered 501(c)(3)s and international equivalents, K-12 schools, and some rural and community health providers. Not eligible: government agencies, political campaigns, higher education, and healthcare systems. Religious organizations are not listed as excluded.
What members learned:
- The minimum used to be five seats. Members noticed the drop to two in March 2026.
- A nonprofit Premium seat at $40 is the group's usual way to get Max-level usage. Members compare it with the $100 personal Max plan.
- Claude Code and the Chrome extension are included in the nonprofit Team plan (members, March and April 2026).
- Converting a personal Gmail Pro account did not work for one shliach; the nonprofit plan wanted a work-domain account (August 2026). If you already pay full price for Team, Anthropic says to update the plan under Admin settings, then Billing, or contact support.
- Before you downgrade a personal plan after joining the nonprofit team, export your memory and move what you need. One member lost easy access to old chats this way (July 2026).
- A member said Anthropic's support removed sales tax after he sent his exemption certificate (August 2026). Not confirmed by Anthropic; ask support.
OpenAI for Nonprofits (ChatGPT)

- ChatGPT Business Standard seats: $8 per user per month billed yearly, or $10 billed monthly.
- Premium seats: not discounted. If a workspace has both, only the Standard seats get the price.
- ChatGPT Enterprise: up to 75% off through OpenAI's sales team.
- API: no nonprofit discount.
- Verification: Goodstack. Existing Business subscribers fill out a short form and get a prorated discount.
The discount does not show on the pricing page. OpenAI's own help article says to pick your seats and click "continue to billing" to see it. Members found the same in July and August 2026, and said moving from Plus or Pro creates a new Business workspace with an offer to bring your chats along.
Religious organizations. OpenAI's earlier policy excluded "academic, medical, religious, or governmental institutions." After a Christian nonprofit sued, OpenAI agreed in July 2025 to remove the religious-discrimination language (the plaintiff's lawyers' account). The current help article lists no religious exclusion. A Chabad House turned down under the old rule should reapply.

Prices from Google's Workspace for Nonprofits page. Google says the free edition includes the Gemini app at no cost, and that the paid editions add more AI features, such as Gemini inside Gmail and Docs.
Not eligible: government bodies, hospitals and healthcare organizations, and schools and universities (their charitable arms may qualify). The same application also opens Google Ad Grants and Maps Platform credits.
Google for Nonprofits does not list general Google Cloud credits. One member's Workspace nonprofit account did not unlock any (April 2026). Ignore the "$10,000 a year in Google Cloud credits" figure that AI assistants kept repeating in the chats.
Members' notes: admins on a managed Workspace account can see Gemini activity, so set expectations with staff. In September 2026 members disagreed on whether Google Photos storage on nonprofit accounts is still unlimited.
Microsoft for Nonprofits
- Microsoft 365 Business Basic: free for up to 300 users. Copilot Chat is included.
- Business Premium: $5.50 per user per month, paid yearly.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on: $25.50 per user per month, paid yearly.
- Azure grant: $2,000 a year in Azure credits.
Microsoft's ineligible list covers government, schools, utilities, financial institutions, trade associations, sports organizations, and political, labor and fraternal groups. Religious organizations are not on it.
Members running their own AI agents use the Azure grant to host the server. Two shluchim confirmed receiving it in August 2026; activation took a few minutes and the credits appeared within a day or two. Using Claude models on Azure needed a manual quota request, which one member called "way too much effort" (June 2026).
Canva, Adobe Express and ElevenLabs
Canva Nonprofits. All Canva Pro features, including its AI design tools, free for registered nonprofits, with team collaboration for up to 50 users. A US 501(c)(3) is required, and Canva reviews each request at its own discretion. Its ineligible list covers government, political and school groups, non-(c)(3) nonprofits and grant-making foundations, with no religious exclusion. See Canva.
Adobe Express for Nonprofits. Adobe Express Premium free for one year for 501(c)(3)s, with 250 generative credits a month and up to 50 licenses. Apply directly with Adobe; verification takes one to three business days. Creative Cloud discounts go through TechSoup.
ElevenLabs Impact Program. Twelve months of free Pro access for registered nonprofits, verified through Goodstack, and you can reapply after. ElevenLabs gives priority to healthcare, education and culture. See ElevenLabs.
Slack for Nonprofits: religious organizations excluded
Slack's nonprofit article. The Pro plan is free for workspaces of 250 or fewer members, and Business+ is 85% off. But Slack's rules exclude "a church, association of churches, or other religious organization," and any group that promotes a religious doctrine as part of its mission. Being affiliated with a religious organization is not disqualifying by itself. TechSoup does the review.
Shluchim who applied were turned down (May and July 2026). Some members discussed setting up a separate, non-religious nonprofit for programs like this. That is a legal and tax decision; talk to your accountant first. Members running personal agents kept using Slack's free plan after being turned down (May 2026). Cloud credits for running your own agent
Builders in the group host personal agents (see Agent Hosting) on servers paid for with nonprofit credits.
- Azure: the $2,000 yearly grant above. Through 2026 it was the most common choice among the group's heavy users.
- AWS: the AWS Nonprofit Credit Program gives up to $5,000 in promotional credit, one grant per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30), valid for at least a year. Educational institutions are not eligible. A member warned to track the credit's expiration date (July 2026).
- Google Cloud: new-account trials only; no nonprofit program for general cloud credits.
The Bedrock trap. AWS's credit terms exclude AWS Marketplace charges. In July 2026 a shliach found his agent had been quietly set up to call Claude through Amazon Bedrock. The server was covered by credits, but Claude on Bedrock came as a separate AWS Marketplace bill of several hundred dollars a month at full price, and AWS support told him the credits did not apply. Moving the agent to his Claude subscription cut the bill to hosting only. Before you rely on any credit, check which products it covers. Paid vs. Free has the steps members used to check.
Teachers and schools
- ChatGPT for Teachers: free for US K-12 teachers and school staff through June 2028 (chatgpt.com/plans/k12-teachers). This replaced the "free through 2027" offer the group shared in January 2026.
- Claude for Teachers: a free year for verified US K-12 educators who sign up by June 30, 2027 (announcement). A member reported that verification needed a school email plus proof such as a pay stub or school ID (July 2026).
- K-12 schools also qualify for Claude for Nonprofits.

- Dext (receipts): 50% off for charities if you email support (June 2026).
- Sunsama: 50% nonprofit discount (March 2026).
- Spoke and OptimoRoute (route planning): nonprofit discounts (February 2026).
- Jotform, Fillout and Zite (forms): nonprofit pricing (June 2026).

- Langfuse (logging for AI agents): a free nonprofit tier (October 2026).
- Bayit Plus (Shabbos and Yom Tov hosting planner): free for shluchim on request (October 2026).

Expired or changed
- Claude's five-seat nonprofit minimum: now two seats.
- OpenAI's old 20% Team discount and its religious exclusion: replaced by the $8/$10 Business Standard price, with no religious exclusion.
- ChatGPT for Teachers "through 2027": now through June 2028.
- Microsoft's 10 free Business Premium seats: gone; Business Premium is $5.50 a user.
- Adobe Express through TechSoup: apply directly with Adobe now.
- Perplexity's free year through PayPal: ended December 31, 2025 (members).
- Free Fable 5 on paid Claude plans: ended June 22, 2026; after the redeploy, Pro, Max and Team got it at up to half of weekly limits through July 7. Today Max and Team Premium include it at up to half of weekly limits; Pro uses credits.
