Kinus Hashluchim AI Day, November 2025
History: the AI Day at the Kinus Hashluchim on Thursday, November 13, 2025, what launched there, what the group did in the weeks after, and how the threads it opened turned out by October 2026.

This page is history. It records the first AI Day at the Kinus Hashluchim and what followed. For the AI events since then, including the AI track at the November 2026 Kinus, see AI Events 2025 to 2026.
The event
- When: Thursday, November 13, 2025 (22 Cheshvan 5786), during the Kinus Hashluchim in Brooklyn, the week of Parshas Chayei Sarah.
- What: a full day of AI sessions inside the Kinus. The first announcement in the AI for Shlichus WhatsApp group (October 22, 2025) promised product launches, hands-on workshops, and a panel of shluchim sharing what had worked for them.
- Who: shluchim who use AI in their work, a Bar-Ilan professor presenting on rabbinic AI, and an outside AI consultant who joined the group in late October to prepare his workshop and asked members what had and had not worked for them.
Before the day, members argued about the format. Some disliked "one topic for the whole day"; others wanted beginner sessions. Recordings were arranged through the Kinus and Zoom.
What launched or was shown
- ShluchimExchange.ai went live at 5:15 pm that Thursday, as a place for shluchim to share prompts and AI workflows, with a beta waitlist. It later added a Torah connector and its prompts were folded into the Master Prompt Library in July 2026. See ShluchimExchange.ai.
- Dicta's Mekorotai, a rabbinic AI from Dicta, the Israeli nonprofit, was demoed and promised for release. A Kinus presentation also showed a chatbot built on the Rebbe's Torah. See Dicta Mekorotai.
- JEM AI, a search assistant for the Rebbe's recorded farbrengens and videos, was mentioned as coming soon.
Google released Gemini 3 on November 18, 2025 and its Nano Banana Pro image model on November 20, 2025, the week after the Kinus (Google, Google). They were not Kinus launches, but they arrived while the group was busiest and took over the flyer conversation for weeks. (An earlier version of this page dated Gemini 3 to November 20 and called the image model "Nano Banana 2"; Nano Banana 2 is a later model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, which members saw announced in late February 2026.)
The lines people repeated
Two half-joking lines from the day became the group's working outlook, that AI makes a shliach's human work more valuable, not less:
"Everyone in the world is going to lose their jobs besides for shluchim."
"Torah AI will educate your mekuravim and make you באין ערוך more in demand."
The weeks after
- The group grew fast. Dozens joined in a single day around the event and more than a hundred join requests came in within hours of the public announcement.
- A shared notebook of the sessions. On November 16 a member built a NotebookLM notebook (now called Gemini Notebook) from the AI Day recordings, with an audio overview you could interrupt with questions.
- Recaps. The admin's first bi-weekly recap (November 18) set the habit of regular summaries. A member asked the same day for shorter, beginner-friendly content because the group had become "too long, people get lost."
- A use-case drive. On November 23 the admin asked members for real shlichus use cases, judged on time saved, money saved, quality, clarity, or something newly possible. Members suggested running one prompt in your own AI to pull out your top five to ten uses, then pasting the list. About 30 came in within a day. The early sort had five groups: fundraising and grants; tech and money saving; chinuch and Torah (simplifying maamarim and sichos for beginners, hands-on Hebrew school lessons, organizing thoughts when writing to the Rebbe); creative and events (trivia lists, flyers in English, Hebrew and Russian, camp theme names); and communications (crisis emails, complaint letters). - Feedback on the workshops. Months later members still mentioned that holding all questions to the end of a session hurt the workshops (March 2026), and one presenter said his opening line had been "people don't need to learn AI."
How the open threads turned out, as of October 2026
- Mekorotai. In February 2026 members still described the Chabad-specific site as not working. In October 2026 its old address forwards to Iluy, Dicta's Torah AI, which has a Chabad library setting (see Dicta and Iluy). The group's practical answers for asking questions of the Rebbe's Torah became the shared Gemini Notebook of the Rebbe's Torah and, from mid-2026, Daiah.
- JEM AI. Its site describes a limited beta for JEM Club members (meetjemai.jem.tv). Members in August 2026 called it "amazing but not an LLM," a search tool for the videos.
- "A Sefaria for Chassidus." The wish from 2025 is partly answered by Daiah, with the copyright limits discussed on Chassidus, Copyright and Access.
- A regular program. The one AI Day turned into a webinar series in 2026, a weekly newsletter, and an AI track at the next Kinus. Dates and recordings are on AI Events 2025 to 2026.
