Terms of service

The terms, plainly.

These are the terms for using the ChabadLabs website and the Chabad MCP connector. They say what the service is, what we ask of you, what you can expect from us, and where our responsibility ends. By using the site or the connector you agree to them.

Last updated 23 October 2026. Applies to this website and to the Chabad connector (mcp.chabadlabs.ai and mcp.shluchimexchange.ai). The Shluchim Exchange web app is a separate service and is not covered by this page. ChabadLabs is a project of Merkos 302, Inc. How we handle your data is described on the privacy page, which is part of these terms.

01 · The service▚

What you are using.

ChabadLabs is a website about AI tools for shluchim, run by Merkos 302. The Chabad MCP is a connector that lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT search sourced Torah texts and use a set of tools built for shluchim. The connector can be used without an account for the read-only lookup tools; some tools are served only to signed-in accounts.

We may add, change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site or the connector at any time, including a tool, a source or a feature, and we may set limits on how often it can be called. Where we can, we say so on this site first. The service is provided to you as it stands on the day you use it.

The connector is usually reached through an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, run by another company (Anthropic, OpenAI, and so on). That assistant is covered by its own terms, which you agree to separately. These terms cover what our tools do with what the assistant sends them.

02 · Accounts▚

Your account is yours to keep safe.

Sign-in is handled by our identity provider. You are responsible for what is done under your account and for keeping your sign-in to yourself. If you believe your account has been compromised, write to us.

Our tools are for adults doing the work of shlichus. They are not directed to children under 13, and you may not open an account for a child under 13.

You can close your account by writing to us; the privacy page says what happens to your data when you do. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used to abuse the service, or that we are required by law to close, and where we can we tell you why.

03 · Acceptable use▚

Use it for the work, and leave it working for others.

Use the site and the connector lawfully and for their purpose: Torah study, and the work of shlichus. Do not use them to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, or to send material you have no right to send.

Do not interfere with the service: no attempts to get around sign-in, rate limits or access controls; no probing or overloading our systems; no automated bulk extraction of the texts or the tool results beyond what ordinary use through an assistant produces; no reselling access to the connector.

If you keep notes about other people through our tools, you are responsible for having a proper basis to hold that information and for using it the way those people would expect. We hold it on your behalf, as the privacy page says.

If we think the service is being misused, we may limit, suspend or stop access while we look into it.

04 · Sourced content, and no halachic rulings▚

A source is a source, not a ruling.

The connector returns passages from Torah sources with a citation to where each one comes from, and in some cases a written draft built from those passages. A search can miss a source, return a passage that is beside the point, or cite a text that says less than it seems to. A written draft is produced by an AI model and can be wrong. Check a passage against the source before you rely on it or pass it on.

Nothing on this site or from the connector is a halachic ruling. A passage that looks clear is still a lookup, not a psak. For a practical question of halacha, ask a rov. The service also gives no legal, medical or financial advice.

The texts come from their sources and publishers and remain subject to whatever rights those sources hold. The tools and the written drafts are there to help you study, teach and work; what you do with them is your responsibility.

05 · Your content and ours▚

What is yours stays yours.

What you put in (your questions, your notes, your files, and the skills, instructions, templates and workflows you create) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it back to you so that the service works, and to use it the way the privacy page describes. Your notes about people and your files are used only to serve you.

The site's own text, design and code, the ChabadLabs name and mark, and the connector's software belong to Merkos 302 or to those who license them to us. You may read, link to and share this site's pages; you may not copy the site or the connector to offer them as your own.

If you send us feedback about the service, we may use it to improve the service without owing you anything for it.

06 · No warranty▚

As it is, when it is up.

The site and the connector are provided as they are and as they are available, without any warranty, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be available at all times, free of errors, or secure, that a search will find every source, or that a written draft will be correct. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions, and where that is so they apply only as far as the law allows.

07 · Limits of liability▚

Where our responsibility ends.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Merkos 302, Inc., its affiliates, and their officers, staff, volunteers and providers are not liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or opportunity, arising from the site, the connector, or anything you obtain through them, however caused. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to one hundred US dollars.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and any dispute about them is brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Kings County, New York. If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

08 · Changes to these terms▚

When this page changes.

When these terms change, this page changes and the date at the top moves. For a change that matters to account holders we may also email you. Using the site or the connector after the date at the top means the current version applies. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the service and, if you have an account, write to us to close it.

These terms and the privacy page are the whole agreement between you and Merkos 302 about this website and the connector. If Merkos 302 reorganises or hands this service to another Chabad institution, these terms go with it.

09 · Contact▚

Ask us anything about this.
