Every day, shluchim are asking the same kind of questions:

If you're on the AI for Shlichus WhatsApp group, you know exactly what we mean.

So today we're sharing the ChabadLabs AI Toolbox.

It collects and categorizes the AI tools that shluchim have been discussing in the group. Tools that shluchim are actually using in their shlichus.

The Toolbox is meant to become a practical map of AI for shluchim. When you have a job to get done, you can look it up, see what other shluchim are already using, and know where to start.

ישנם רבים שעומדים בהתפעלות גדולה מהתגליות שנתחדשו בחכמות חיצוניות בשנים האחרונות, ובכללות, בעשיריות השנים האחרונות.

ובכן, האמת היא – ע"פ מ"ש "אין כל חדש תחת השמש" – שמפורש הדבר בזהר [שמאז שנדפס לראשונה עברו כבר כמה מאות שנה, ועאכו"כ מאז שהי' בכתב, שנים רבות מקודם לכן, ועוד לפנ"ז, כשהי' בעל-פה עדיין; ובכל אופן, מאות שנים לפני תקופת התגליות הגדולות במדע], כידוע מאמר הזהר על הפסוק "בשנת שש מאות שנה לחיי נח גו' נבקעו כל מעיינות תהום רבה וגו'": "בשית מאה שנין לשתיתאה יתפתחון תרעי דחכמתא לעילא ומבועי דחכמתא לתתא וכו'", היינו, שהחל משנת שש מאות לאלף הששי תתרבה החכמה בעולם, והמדובר הוא לאו דוקא בנוגע לחכמת התורה ואלקות, אלא בנוגע לחכמה סתם.

וישנה נקודה נוספת שכולם מתעכבים עלי':

לפני מאות שנים, הנה כדי להיות "מלומד" ו"איש מדע", הי' צריך אדם להתייגע במשך עשרות שנים, עד שלסוף ימיו יהי' "איש מדע". משא"כ בתקופתנו, הנה ע"י שחילקו את המדע לכמה פרטים וחלקים, וע"י שמצאו דרכים כיצד לתפוס ולהבין באופן מהיר – גם בתקופת זמן קצרה יכולים להיות "מלומד" ו"איש מדע".

ובכן גם ענין זה מפורש בזהר הנ"ל – בהמשך הענין: "אפילו רביי דעלמא (דהיינו בחורים ונערים) זמינין לאשכחא טמירין דחכמתא כו'", ומסיים: "בההוא זמנא אתגליא לכלא, הה"ד כי אז אהפוך אל עמים שפה ברורה לקרוא כולם בשם ה' (שיהי' אז באופן ד"ה' אחד ושמו אחד") ולעבדו שכם אחד".

כלומר: שלא כדעת הטועים שחכמות חיצוניות מביאים ראי' על היפך הקדושה, אלא אדרבה, ככל שיודעים אותם לאמיתתם, הולך וניתוסף הכרח הענין ד"אחד בארץ", היינו, שהעולם כולו חדור בענין של אחדות; לא כמו שחשבו פעם שישנם מאות דברים נפרדים שאין קשר ביניהם, אלא אדרבה – במשך הזמן מתחזקת יותר ההכרה בשלילת הפירוד; עדיין לא אוחזים ב"אחד", אבל הריבוי נתצמצם למספר קטן של חלקים. ולא כמו בדורות שלפנ"ז, שהיו סבורים שזהו באופן של ריבוי מופלג, "נעשה" לשון רבים.

ומזה באים לידי הכרה במה צריכה להיות המלחמה בדורנו – דור שניתנו לו אפשריות כאלו שלא היו מעולם, ובעוונותינו הרבים, ולמרבה הצער הכי גדול, לא מנצלים זאת כלל, הן בנוגע לכלל והן בנוגע לפרט, כדלקמן.

ChatGPT can now help with email inside the chat.

OpenAI recently added an update for managing email in ChatGPT. If you connect Gmail to ChatGPT, you can ask it to find an email thread, summarise what was said, or draft a response. If you set it up fully, ChatGPT can also take email actions, but you should keep approvals on and review before anything is sent.

A big part of how this helps is the work around the message: finding the right thread, understanding what was said, drafting a follow-up, or turning a messy back-and-forth into a clear next step.

A few examples

- Find the last email about the Hebrew school registration form and draft a short follow-up.
- Summarize the replies about the dinner seating and list who still needs an answer, then email it to my secretary.
- Draft a warm response to this parent, keeping it short and practical.
- Look through the recent emails about the campaign and tell me what I'm missing.

NotebookLM adds short video summaries.

Google's NotebookLM just announced Short Video Overviews, a new feature that turns your sources into 60-second vertical videos explaining a concept. It's rolling out now to people on a paid Gemini plan.

For shluchim, this could be useful for quickly turning long material into a short visual explanation: a shiur source sheet, a collection of articles, a program plan, or a few marei mekomos for a shiur. As always with NotebookLM, the strength is that it works only from the sources you give it.

Connect one app inside ChatGPT

If you have ChatGPT (or Claude), take five minutes this week and connect one app you already use.

As you just read, connecting apps like Gmail can be a big win, but don't stop at email. The real value is that AI can work with the information you already have sitting in your tools: schedules, Google Docs, spreadsheets, contacts, event plans, parent lists, class outlines, and half-finished program notes.

Once you have one app connected, experiment with asking ChatGPT to do a task you normally do inside that tool. For example:

Try one of these

- Look at my calendar for this week and find one open 45-minute slot where I could work on [project name]. Do not schedule anything yet.
- Find the latest Google Drive file about [event name] and turn it into a clean checklist of what still needs to be done.
- Look at the [project name] Asana project and add a task for me to call the graphic designer about the pamphlets.
